Form and Size: Tall spreading tree, 15-25m high.

Distribution: Coastal N.E. Qld., from Townsville north, along streams and in rainforest margins.

Phyllodes: Large, broad, green, 10-25cm long with four prominent veins.

Bark: Rough, dark brown.

Flowers: White spikes, 6-10cm long, rather inconspicuous.

Flowering Period: December to June.

Fruit: Pods, slender, about 5cm long, coiled and twisted.

Cultivation/Notes: Propagate from treated seed. Fast growing tree suitable for quick shade. Requires well drained soil and regular watering.
