Form and Size: Medium to tall shrub

Distribution: North-eastern Qld; generally along stream banks

Leaves: Egg-shaped, thick, leathery, dark green and glossy above, paler and dull beneath, 5-8cm x 3-5cm; new growth bright red

Bark: Greenish

Flowers: White, about 1cm diameter; in clusters in the leaf axils.

Flowering Period: December to March

Fruit: Berry, black, egg-shaped, about 1cm diameter

Cultivation/Notes: Propagate from fresh seed.
