Form and Size: A tree to 12m with a bushy crown

Distribution: Rainforests of north-eastern Qld

Leaves: Oval, dark green, margins coarsely toothed, to 14cm x 6cm

Flowers: Cream, about 1.5cm diameter; borne on terminal racemes to 8cm long

Flowering Period: August to October

Fruit: Green turning black, egg-shaped, prickly, 2-segmented, about 2.5cm long

Cultivation/Notes: Propagate from fresh seed
A slow growing tree, but one which is adaptable to varied conditions
Very showy when in flower
