Form & Size: Spreading shrub to 2m, with twisted and contorted trunks

Distribution: Cardwell to Proserpine, and at Laura on Cape York, generally on cliff-lines

Leaves: Alternate, discolorous, linear, 17-30mm x 1.8-4.4mm, appressed hairs on under surface

Bark: Smooth, deciduous, purple to maroon

Flowers: White, 5-7.5mm diameter

Flowering Period: August to January

Fruit: Roughly hemispherical capsules, 1.8-2.2mm x 2.9-3.4mm
