Form and Size: Spreading tree 3-5m x 3-4m with pendulous, zig-zagging branchlets.

Distribution: Central & southern Qld. on stony ridges and along creeks and at White Mountains near Pentland.

Phyllodes: Long, slightly curved, green, 13-25cm x 1-2.5cm, long tapering point; one prominent central vein.

Bark: Smooth grey or brown.

Flowers: Bright yellow ball flowers in elongated clusters arising from the leaf axils.

Flowering Period: July to August.

Fruit: Pods, dark brown, constricted between the seeds, 7-9cm x 0.4-0.5cm, alternately raised and depressed over seeds, giving a bead-like appearance; seeds longitudinal in the pod.

Distinctive Features: Branchlets distinctly zig-zag from node to node. Phyllodes are long and oval, with a midrib and small radiating veins.

Cultivation/Notes: Propagate from treated seed. Very decorative plant requiring good drainage and full sun.
